Fire burns 12 acres of brush

SUFFOLK, Va. (WAVY) – A fire burned approximately 12 acres of brush Sunday in Suffolk.

Diana Klink with the City of Suffolk said Suffolk Fire & Rescue were called to a brush fire at 12:37 p.m. at the end of Brook Avenue, near the Colander Bishop Apartments.

Klink said the fire extended into a wooded area near the power line right-of-way. Firefighters spent around 45 minutes putting out the flames.

No one was hurt.

The cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
