Man accused of holding hunters at gunpoint

SUFFOLK, Va. (WAVY) – A 58-year-old man has been charged in connection to a hunting incident in Suffolk last year.

Diana Klink with the City of Suffolk said Rodrigo R. Clima of Virginia Beach was charged with two counts of abduction/kidnapping, two counts of brandishing a firearm, use or display a firearm in commission of a felony and reckless handling of a firearm.

The incident occurred Nov. 30 in the 3700 block of Butler Drive in Suffolk. Clima is accused of confronting two hunters at gunpoint and ordering them to unload their weapons and put them on the ground. Further information was not released on the incident.

Clima was arrested after an indictment Wednesday.

No one was injured. Clima is being held at the Western Tidewater Regional Jail.
