NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) – The two men charged in connection to an Old Dominion University’s student’s death faced a judge Thursday morning.
David Grimm, Jr. and Christopher Chase Johnson were arraigned. Grimm is charged with second degree murder while Johnson is charged with misdemeanor assault in the death of Paul Johnson. Mugshots for both men were released Friday.
Paul Johnson died after being hit in the head during an altercation near ODU’s campus over the weekend.
WAVY News’ Lex Gray was in the courtroom for the arraignment. Grimm’s next court date was set for March 6. He does not have an attorney at this time and remains in custody with no bond.
Christopher Chase Johnson, who is not related to Paul Johnson, was released on a $1,500 bond. He has hired an attorney and his next court date is set for May 12.
