Bank robbery suspect arrested in VB

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) – Police have arrested a man after a Virginia Beach bank was robbed Wednesday.

A Virginia Beach Police Department spokesperson said the robbery happened at the Bank of America located at 4614 Virginia Beach Blvd. around 3:26 p.m. A caller told investigators a suspect went into the bank, approached a teller and presented a note demanding money.

Police said the suspect fled on foot with an undisclosed of money.

The suspect was described as a white male between the ages of 50 and 60 years old, 5”6” to 5’7” tall, with a thin build. He was wearing a green flannel jacket, a tan or black golfer’s cap and dark-framed glasses.

The suspect was identified as Vernon Eugene Guinn, 50, of Norfolk. Guinn was taken into custody around 10:30 p.m. and charged with robbery.
