PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) – Portsmouth water customers may notice a discoloration in their water this weekend.
According to the city, the Elizabeth River Tunnels Project team and the Virginia Department of Transportation will start adjustments to the water transmission system Saturday, March 1. The work is related to the MLK Extension project.
Residents and businesses may see a discoloration of water between Saturday and Sunday. Customers should check for discoloration before doing any laundry.
If any discoloration is noticed, turn on the faucet for a few minutes and it should disappear.
