SUFFOLK, Va. (WAVY) – Suffolk Fire & Rescue crews put out two separate brush fires Sunday afternoon. The fires were on Holland Road/Route 58 near Longstreet Lane and Pioneer Road.

Diana Klink with the City of Suffolk said fire crews were called to the area around 4:11 p.m.

One brush fire was estimated to be about 50 yards long and 50 yards deep, with the second  spanning about 10 to 15 yards, Klink said. The fires were about 50 yards apart, and crews were able to extinguish both quickly.

No one was hurt.

Klink said traffic was briefly stopped on Route 58 westbound while crews dealt with the brush fires.

At this time, the cause of the fires is unknown.
