Police investigate gunshots in Portsmouth neighborhood

PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) — Police are looking for evidence of a shooting in a Portsmouth neighborhood after residents say they heard arguing and gunshots Thursday afternoon.

Just after 3 p.m., Portsmouth Police responded to the 4000 block of Ketch Drive for a report of shots fired. According to Det. Misty Holley with Portsmouth Police, when officers arrived at the scene, witnesses said two groups of people were arguing outside before they heard gunshots. When the witnesses looked back outside, the groups were scattering.

Holley said there were no suspects or victims at the scene and no reported injuries. Officers are still looking in the area to see if there is any evidence to collect.
