NN store employee robbed at gunpoint

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) – Newport News Police are asking for help identifying a suspect after a store employee said she was robbed at gunpoint.

According to the Newport News Police Department, the robbery happened at Cybernet (Computer/Internet Lab) located at 610 Stoney Creek Lane on Feb. 14 at 2:20 a.m. An employee told police she was robbed at gunpoint by an unknown man.

Investigators learned the suspect approached the employee as she went out the back door to leave for the night. The suspect forced the employee back into the business and demanded money from the safe.

The employee told police she gave the man two envelopes containing cash. The man then took off through the back door in an unknown direction.

The suspect is described as being 18 to 23 years old, 5’9” to 5’11” tall, about 110 pounds, wearing a dark-colored jacket with a white hoodie underneath, and carrying a small silver-colored handgun.
