Two pedestrians hit by vehicles in Suffolk

SUFFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — A woman was struck by a vehicle while assisting a pedestrian who had been hit by another vehicle in Suffolk Wednesday evening.

Police and fire crews were dispatched to the 2300 block of Godwin Boulevard around 8:20 p.m. for a report of an auto-pedestrian crash, according to Diana Klink with Suffolk City.

A preliminary investigation revealed a 79-year-old man walked into oncoming traffic and was hit by a Honda, and while a woman stopped to assist him in the median, she was struck by a second vehicle.

The man was transported to Sentara Norfolk General with injuries that were not life-threatening. The woman was transported to Sentara Obici Hospital with no visible injuries, Klink said.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing. No information was released about possible charges.
