SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) — A person familiar with the deal says the Los Angeles Lakers have traded point guard Steve Blake to the Golden State Warriors for reserve guards Kent Bazemore and MarShon Brooks.
The 24-year-old Bazemore was a star player during his college days at Old Dominion.
Undrafted out of college, Bazemore has gained fame for his over the top celebrations on the bench.
The person spoke on condition of anonymity to The Associated Press on Wednesday night because the trade was still pending NBA approval.
The Los Angeles Times first reported Blake had been traded.
Word of the deal started to spread just before the Warriors played in Sacramento and the Lakers hosted Houston in Los Angeles.
Blake is averaging 9.5 points and 7.6 assists while starting all 26 games he has played for the injury-depleted Lakers this season. Bazemore and Brooks have played limited minutes.
