Amber Alert side by side

ORANGE, Va. (WAVY) – A 5-year-old girl is back with her family after a Virginia AMBER Alert Wednesday.

Virginia State Police found Amiyah Dallas of Orange, Va., in Accomack County. Troopers said Amiyah’s aunt, 22-year-old Olivia Dallas, is being held at the Accomack County Jail on one felony count of abduction and one count of unauthorized use of a vehicle.

Amiyah had last been seen with her aunt on Tuesday in Orange County. When she had not been returned to her mother, and when family members were not able to contact Olivia Dallas, Amiyah was reported missing.

Virginia State Police said investigators confirmed Olivia Dallas was spotted in Queen Anne’s County, Md., late Tuesday. The Sheriff’s Office requested an AMBER Alert activation in hopes of locating Amiyah.

The alert went out at 12:07 p.m. Wednesday, and investigators received more than a dozen calls from people on the Eastern Shore within minutes. The AMBER Alert also stated Olivia Dallas had a history of depression and drug use.

Troopers spotted the suspect vehicle along Route 13 near Painter, Va. with a flat tire. Olivia Dallas was in the driver’s seat, with Amiyah inside the car.

Amiyah was recovered safely, and troopers said Olivia Dallas was taken into custody without incident.
