Vehicles broken into, one stolen, in Carrollton

ISLE OF WIGHT, Va. (WAVY) – The Isle of Wight Sheriff’s Office is urging residents to be vigilant in protecting their valuables, following a series of vehicle break-ins.

This past Sunday and Monday at several locations across Carrollton, thieves broke the windows of five locked vehicles to gain access. They stole a weapon, garage door openers, a book bag containing an iPad, a wallet and a backpack with hunting equipment. In one of the cases, at the Eagle Harbor Apartment Complex, they also stole the vehicle – a 2013 Toyota FJ Cruiser.

These incidents come on the heels of another series of break-ins to unlocked cars in the Eagle Harbor Apartment complex on February 7 and 8.

The Sheriff’s Office says there are no leads at this time.

Anyone with information about these crimes is asked to call the Sheriff’s Office at 757-357-2151 or Crime Line at 1-888-Lock-U-Up.
