ISLE OF WIGHT, Va. (WAVY) — Nightingale was called to the scene of a vehicle crash in Isle of Wight Tuesday night.
Isle of Wight Dispatch Sgt. Davenport told WAVY.com a 911 call came in at 7:29 p.m. about a single-vehicle crash near the intersection of Titus Creek Drive and Smith Neck Road.
Investigators determined a 1999 Dodge Durango driven by Shaquan Hall, 22, lost control and struck a tree, according to Virginia State Police. Hall and his 17-year-old passenger ran away from the crash scene. They were later found several blocks away.
Sgt. Davenport said Nightingale was called out to the scene to transport Hall, who had suffered severe injuries. He was admitted to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital. The teen passenger was released to his parents.
Speed is believed to be a factor in the crash. Hall was also wanted for failure to appear by the Isle of Wight Sheriff’s Department.
Virginia State Police is investigating the case.
