PD: Woman shot man during dispute

CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) — Chesapeake Police say a domestic dispute led to a woman shooting a man in his arm Monday evening.

Leo Kosinski with the Chesapeake Police Department said officers responded to a report of a shooting in the 3100 block of Border Road around 6 p.m. Upon arrival, officers learned a domestic dispute occurred when a female resident returned to her home and found her child’s father there. During the altercation, the woman shot the man in his arm.

The victim was transported to Norfolk General Hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.

Tiffany Shepherd, 27, was arrested and charged with malicious wounding, possession of a firearm in the commission of a felony, discharging a firearm in an occupied building and two counts of reckless care for a child. Shepherd’s two children, ages one and ten, were inside the house at the time of the shooting. A family member is caring for the children.

Shepherd is being held without bond.
