NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) – The suspect in this week’s deadly shooting at the Majik City Gentlemen’s Club is behind bars.
Detectives arrested 20-year-old Rashad D’Antrell Ashlock Thursday night and charged him with first degree murder and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony in connection with Issac Oiugbenga Oshin’s death.
According to police spokesman Lou Thurston, officers were responding to a call of gunshots in the area of 25th Street and Jefferson Avenue around 7:30 p.m. Thursday when they came upon Ashlock. Officers determined he was the suspect wanted for Wednesday’s homicide at Majik City.
Ashlock remains in custody at Newport News City Jail.
Oshin, 56, was found shot to death at the club around 1:45 a.m. Wednesday. Witnesses told police there was an altercation inside the club and the suspects left in a red car. A short time later, a vehicle pulled into the parking lot and a person got out and shot Oshin.
