HR snow not expected to impact Valentine’s Day flowers

Valentine's Day flower sales and winter weather

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) – The winter storm hitting the East Coast is not expected to affect anyone’s Valentine’s Day flowers in Hampton Roads.

Some florists along the Atlantic Coast are reporting smaller inventories of roses and flowers due to all the snow storms this year, but locally, things are looking good.

Norfolk Wholesale Florists had a steady stream of customers Thursday and the owner told WAVY News 10 he has plenty of roses and other flowers to make that special person in your life smile on Valentine’s Day.

“We’re sitting pretty. Hasn’t affected deliveries at all. To be honest with you, yesterday was the first time in my career I’ve seen snow on Valentine’s week but it came in and went out really quick, so it hasn’t changed a thing,” said Jason Cook, Norfolk Wholesale florist.

Cook said the tunnel tolls have not affected his prices, either. Cook told WAVY News 10 paying the tolls is just part of doing business.
