NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) – A vehicle collided with a light rail train Thursday morning, delaying service for some time.
Tom Holden with Hampton Roads Transit told WAVY.com the crash occurred at Brambleton Avenue and 2nd Street around 9:15 a.m. The train stopped, but the driver of the vehicle initially left the scene.
The driver came right back.
A bus bridge was put in place in order for passengers to complete their trip. Holden said there were four adults and two juveniles on the train at the time.
The damage to the train was minor and a scrape on the paint. The operator had to go through a series of tests to make sure they were okay, Holden added.
Service was restored around 10:45 a.m.
