Residents warned about York Co. home break-ins

YORK COUNTY, Va. (WAVY) – The York-Poquoson Sheriff’s Office is warning residents about home break-ins in the Greenlands subdivision.

In a message posted on the York-Poquoson Sheriff’s Office’s Facebook page, deputies said they were investigating two burglaries in the area.

Deputies said a house in the 400 block of Richter Lane was broken into on Monday between 8 a.m. and 9 p.m. According to the post, thieves got in through a rear door and ransacked the home. A firearm, jewelry, watch, purse and suitcase were taken.

On Tuesday, deputies said the same thieves broke into a house in the 300 block of Richter Lane between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. The house was ransacked and electronics were stolen.

No additional information was released.

The York-Poquoson Sheriff’s Office asks that anyone who observes suspicious activity calls 911.
