Federal jury convicts man in child pornography case

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) – A Virginia Beach man faces decades in prison after being convicted of several child pornography charges Tuesday.

Marcus Warrick, 29, was convicted by a federal jury on six counts of receipt of child pornography and one count of possession of child pornography, the U.S. Attorney’s Office said. Each charge carries a minimum of five years in prison and a maximum of 20 years in prison.

Homeland Security Investigations executed a search warrant and seized Warrick’s computer, on which more than 400 videos and images of child pornography was found. The U.S. Attorney’s Office said further investigation revealed Warrick used the peer-to-peer network Ares to actively search for child pornography.
