NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) – Police say a woman conspired with another person to rob a man she met at a nightclub in November.
Harold Eley with the Newport News Police Department said the 32-year-old victim met the suspect, identified as Alexarea Lopez, 24, of Newport News at a nightclub. Between 11:30 p.m. and 11:45 p.m. Nov. 20, the victim went with Lopez to her apartment.
As they walked through the parking area in the 6200 block of Hilmar Place, the victim was confronted by an unknown male suspect who brandished a handgun and demanded everything out of the victim’s pockets. The victim handed over his cell phone, keys and wallet.
In December 2013, the victim’s credit cards were used to pay utility bills belonging to Lopez, Eley said. Investigation also showed Lopez use the victim’s credit card within eight hours of the robbery.
“The ongoing investigation showed Ms. Lopez conspired with an as of yet unknown person to rob the victim,” Eley told WAVY.com.
Warrants were obtained for Lopez on the following charges.
- Use of a firearm in the commission of a felony
- Two counts conspiracy to commit a felony
- Credit card larceny
- Credit card fraud less than $200
- Obtain money by false pretense less than $200
