Woman killed in Williamsburg crash

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. (WAVY) – A Gloucester Point woman was killed in a single-vehicle crash in Williamsburg Monday afternoon.

Sgt. Michelle Anaya with the Virginia State Police said the crash occurred around 1 p.m. on Penniman Road. A 1999 Subaru Outback traveling westbound went off the road and struck a tree.

The driver, Barbara Lambert, 54, was transported to Riverside Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. She was pronounced dead shortly after.

Anaya said Lambert was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. Alcohol was not a factor.
