SUFFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — Firefighters and police officers responded to a residential fire in Suffolk Monday evening.
Diana Klink with the city of Suffolk said the fire occurred in the 900 block of East Washington Street just after 7 p.m. The fire began in the second floor of a two-story house, which was divided into two apartments.
The ground-floor apartment was vacant at the time of the fire, but one male resident who was in the building was transported to Sentara Obici Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. No one else was injured.
Two adult residents have been displaced from the residents due to fire damage.
The Fire Marshal’s Office is still investigating the cause of the fire.
