Va. Beach Police seek bank robbery suspect

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) – Virginia Beach Police are looking for a suspect in connection to a bank robbery Thursday, and investigators say he may be responsible for other robberies.

According to Tonya Borman with the Virginia Beach Police Department, officers were notified about a robbery at the Bank of America located at 2061 Lynnhaven Parkway. It happened around 3:50 p.m. Thursday.

A witness told police a lone suspect went into the bank, brandished a handgun, and demanded money. The suspect was given an undisclosed amount of money, and fled in an awaiting vehicle.

Borman said the vehicle was later discovered to be stolen, and was found nearby.

Investigators said they believe the suspect may be responsible for other robberies in Virginia Beach and other Hampton Roads cities.

The suspect was described as a black male, 35 to 45 years old, 5’11” to 6” tall, with a medium build.
