NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) – A 23-year-old man is accused of inappropriately touching a woman in Newport News.

Harold Eley with the Newport News Police Department told WAVY.com the victim told police on May 25, 2013 she was in a vehicle in a parking lot with two other people several days earlier when she was touched inappropriately by Michael Eason, 23, of Hayes.

The victim said Eason put his hands inside her clothing and she screamed for him to stop. She said she was able to get her things and leave the area, but Eason began texting her about doing “more of the same,” Eley said.

Further investigation led police to get the text messages and a warrant for sexual battery was obtained May 25. Eason was arrested the next day, but the charge was nolle prosequi in July, meaning the Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office would not pursue the charge, but it could be brought back.

Eason was again arrested on the charge in January 2014 as a result of a direct indictment for the same incident, Eley said.
