Mary Newns with Currituck County said the canopy over gas pumps at the Shell gas station at the intersection of Rout 168 and Courthouse Road collapsed.

No one was pumping gas at the time, so no one was injured and no vehicles were damaged, Newns said.

The business cannot sell gas at the moment, but the store attached to the gas station is still open for business.
