VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — Firefighters responded to a fire at the Hunter Mill Apartments Monday night.

Crews were dispatched to an apartment complex fire in the 300 block of Wexford Drive just after 10 p.m., according to Battalion Chief Brian Taylor with the Virginia Beach Fire Department. Units arrived on scene about 7 minutes later and had the flames under control by 10:25 p.m.

Taylor said just one apartment was involved in the fire, and it appears the flames ignited on the exterior of the unit or in an attached utility closet.

No one was injured, but one person was displaced from the apartment due to moderate fire damage.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation. Stay with WAVY.com for updates as they become available.
