Students put their designs to the test at NSU

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) – High school students tested their own designs at Norfolk State University Saturday in a statewide robotics competition. Fifty teams competed in the First Tech Challenge quarterfinals.

The robotics competition tested students’ ability to build, design, and program robots which competed to do carry out tasks.

“Not only are they on the field of play accomplishing a challenge, they are also doing outreach in the community to spread the word about STEM careers and the way STEM influences our society,” said Patricia Mead, Professor of Engineering.
