HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) — The Hampton Police Division arrested two suspects of a bank robbery Thursday and credits a Crime Line tip for helping.

On October 8 around 2:17 p.m., a suspect entered the Navy Federal Credit Union in the 200 block of Fox Hill Road, displayed a gun and demanded cash, according to Corporal Mary Shackelford with the HPD.

The suspect took cash and fled the area on a bicycle. No one was injured during the incident.

During the investigation, Shackelford said the police division received a Crime Line tip that enabled warrants to be filed for the arrest of two suspects.

Those arrests took place on Thursday: 26-year-old Colt Lee Weatherby of Lanexa and 20-year-old Alicia Taylor Forehand of Smithfield were taken into custody without incident, Shackelford said.

Weatherby was charged with bank robbery, burglary while armed, wearing a mask in public and two counts of use of a firearm in commission of a felony. Forehand was charged with bank robbery.

Both are being held in the custody of the Hampton Sheriff’s Office.
