Suffolk rape suspect turns himself in

SUFFOLK, Va. (WAVY) – Suffolk Police say a rape suspect has turned himself in to police.

Diana Klink with the City of Suffolk said officers were looking for Jerrod Kion Boone, 31, of Portsmouth.

The only information released on the incident is that it occurred Dec. 31, 2013 after a date between Boone and the victim. Klink said the victim had been talking with Boone on the internet.

Klink said Boone turned himself in at Suffolk Police Headquarters Thursday afternoon. He was charged with rape, and was set to be taken to Western Tidewater Regional Jail.
