PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) – The US 58 South off-ramp at London Boulevard will close this week for up to a year.

The Elizabeth River Tunnel Project team is closing the ramp on Thursday as part of the construction of the Martin Luther King Freeway Extension, which will extend U.S. Route 58 South from London Boulevard to I-264 with an interchange at High Street.

During the closure, ERT will reconstruct the US 58 South off-ramp to London Blvd and build a temporary London Blvd. on-ramp to US 58 North. Some preparation work for the construction will begin Tuesday, and so traffic traveling toward East London Blvd. will detour west on High Street to London Blvd.
