HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) – A Hampton High School student says she was assaulted by a school employee.
According to Hampton Police, the alleged incident occurred January 9 around 1 p.m., but the 17-year-old victim reported it to school officials on the 13th.
The following day, as a result of the investigation, San Antonio Crosby of Suffolk was issued a summons for one count of simple assault.
According to the school’s website , Crosby works in the Career and Technical Education department.
Hampton High School sent the following phone message to parents and guardians of students:
This is Sharmaine Grove, principal of Hampton High School. I am calling to share that a Hampton High School staff member has been placed on leave for allegedly having inappropriate contact with a student. We are cooperating with the Hampton Police Department in the investigation.
The safety of our students and staff is a top priority and we will continue to do whatever we can to ensure our schools are safe.
