Manager discovers Wal-Mart intruders

Chesapeake WalMart intruder

Chesapeake Police and Virginia State Police responded to a report of intruders at a closed Wal-Mart store Christmas morning.

Around 8:50 a.m. Wednesday, a manager at the Wal-Mart at 2448 Chesapeake Square Ring Road heard noises inside the store when it was closed for the Christmas holiday. When she went to investigate the noises, she discovered two masked men dressed in all black who had broken into the store through the lawn and garden entrance, according to Leo Kosinski with the Chesapeake Police Department.

When the suspects saw the manager, they fled the store on foot and were last seen running into the woods adjacent to the store. The manager then reported the incident to police.

Kosinski said Virginia State Police dispatched K-9 unites to track the suspects down, but have been unsuccessful, so far.

CPD and VSP investigators are looking through surveillance video and the store for any evidence the suspects may have left behind. Kosinski said so far it seems the suspects did not have weapons and did not take anything from the Wal-Mart.
