NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) – A 21-year-old man has been sentenced to 36 months in prison after offering to sell women.

On May 15, 2013, Virginia Beach Police Department investigators came across an ad on Craigslist offering to sell a woman as a ‘sex slave’ for $10,000, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

Investigators responded to the ad and spoke with Prince Lee, of New York, who agreed to sell three women for approximately $225,000. The U.S. Attorney’s Office said an agreement was made to meet in Virginia Beach on June 1.

According to investigators, Lee and Henry Olson, 21, of New York recruited a 30-year-old woman to ‘hang out with a friend’ of Lee’s in Virginia. She was told she would make $10,000 and after persuasion, agreed.

Lee and a third defendant, Arielle Pierre, 21, of New York, recruited a second woman to also spend a few hours with the man in Virginia.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office said neither woman knew they were being ‘sold’ to the man.’

The three defendants and two others drove with the women from New York and arrived in Virginia Beach on June 1. Virginia Beach officers observed Lee and Pierre yelling at and grabbing the second victim in an attempt to force her to stay. Investigators say the woman ran into a nearby hotel and was hidden in a back room by hotel employees.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office said the first woman was also threatened if she did not comply.

That same day, the defendants were arrested and charged with conspiracy, transportation for prostitution, coercion and enticement.

On Jan. 8, 2014, Pierre was sentenced to 12 months in jail. Lee was sentenced Thursday to 36 months in prison, followed by 5 years of supervised released. Olson is expected to be sentenced on Jan. 29.
