CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) – A man was found dead inside a Chesapeake house after police attempted to serve a search warrant for child pornography Friday.
Kelly O’Sullivan with the Chesapeake Police Department said officers and the SWAT team were in the 500 block of Shelview Circle around 9:25 a.m. to serve the warrant.
O’Sullivan told WAVY.com they were not initially sure if anyone was inside the residence, but when they approached a residence, officers heard what sounded like a gunshot. The SWAT team was activated, and after entry into the home at 2:40 p.m., they found a deceased man.
“Not good, not good. We all have kids. Don’t want to hear that or see that in your neighborhood,” said neighbor Susan Reber. “This I a great neighborhood. Everybody knows each other, everybody’s friends with each other so yeah its pretty shocking.”
Police did not say how the man died, but they did say he was by himself.
